EMCHI, Sep 22: Arunachal's first Early Child Care & Education Center (ECCE) was inaugurated at Government Upper Primary School, Emchi under Gumto Circle in Papum Pare district today.
“Every school should focus on three aspects, namely development of thinking capacity, learning by doing activities and adoption of play way method to ensure joyful learning," said Minister for Education Er. Taba Tedir while inaugurating the center in presence of MLA Doimukh Tana Hali Tara, State Project Director, ISSE Samagra Shiksha, Pige Ligu, Deputy Commisioner Sachin Rana and others.
While sharing the details about the National Education Policy 2020, Tedir said that the Education Policy thrives on the five Pillars namely Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability and Accountability.
“It commits to universal access to quality early childhood education to all children under 6 years of age," he added while informing that the state government has decided to open 300 Early Childhood Care & Education Centers (ECCE) in the state.
Also encouraging young children to learn basic things in the mother tongue, he said that “It is the only way to preserve our vanishing mother tongue."
He further urged PRI leaders including ZPC to adopt one ECCE Centre in their respective segments and nurture it by assisting in providing basic requirements.
MLA Tara, appealed all the parents to avail the ECCE facility and said "Education starts first from our homes, and as responsible parents we all need to create a good academic environment in our homes.”
DC Rana, also highlighted the aims and objectives of programme.
Earlier Ligu, highlighted the importance of Early Child Care & Education Centre and emphasized on foundation of literacy, numeracy and language through play way strategies to mould the young kids for a holistic development. Early childhood care and education centre (ECCE) is important as it addresses the period from birth to 8 years old, capitalizes on a period of rich brain development for children and thus can help them achieve their full potential.
Tedir also inaugurated the ECCE (Early Child Care and Education) Centre at Govt. Secondary School G-Sector, Naharlagun under Itanagar Capital Complex in presence of Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso, Mayor IMC Tame Phassang, Commissioner (Education) Padmini Singla among others.
The centre will benefit the children of the area in and around G-Sector colony and nearby colonies in facilitating early childhood education along with daycare facilities.
