ITANAGAR, May 17: Arunachal’s Covid situation turned out to be much critical on Monday with 4 more casualties and fresh cases crossing the 300 mark.
A 20-yr old female resident of Daporijo who was suffering from COVID pneumonia expired at 11.15 pm on Sunday at DCH Chimpu. A 40-yr old male Covid positive patient referred from DCHC Roing died today at DCH Pasighat due to cardio-respiratory failure. A 40-yr old male Covid positive GREF labourer from Demwe, Tezu, Lohit district expired on Sunday at the DCHC GREF camp. A 52-yr old COVID positive male suffering from comorbidities hailing from village Diking, Pasighat, East Siang district expired on Monday morning at DCH Pasighat. With these four deaths, the state’s Covid casualty toll has reached 85. With the addition of 304 new cases on the day (asymptomatic 181, symptomatic 123) and ICR continuing to lead with 89, the state’s active Covid count on Monday reached 2346 and with 214 recoveries (ICR 39, LDV 25, Upper Subansiri 22 the first three), the recovery/discharge count reached to 19675. As of Saturday, 2100 individuals across the state were in home isolation. Sample collection saw a marked improvement with 4208 collected across the state on the day.   

Occupancy status at the CCCs on May17 was- 49 at DCH Chimpu, 42 at SQF Lekhi, 5 at DCHC Midpu, 4 at DCH Pasighat and 27 at DCHC.
