ITANAGAR, Nov 2: Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC), President Tarh Jhony today said that if the state government fails to address the demands made by the families of Everester Tapi Mra and Niku Dao within a day, the APYC will organize a peaceful protest at the premises of the Director of Sports & Youth Affairs office on Friday.
Jhony, who alongwith APYC members met the aggrieved family members at IG Park on Wednesday said that their visit is purely humanitarian and hence should not be considered political.
"It is very sad to know that the state government is ignoring the request of the aggrieved family members, he said.
He said Tapi Mra is the first from the state to scale Mount Everest. Moreover, the demands of the family members are very genuine, which can be fulfilled instantly if the state government desires.
“The Chief Minister should at least engage some officials to meet the family and accordingly try to know their problems. It is sad that till today there has been no official correspondence from the state government,” he said, adding that the sit-in protest could have been avoided by the timely response by the government. He also claimed that the search and rescue operation conducted by the state government was futile and not executed properly. 
Besides, the state government should immediately accept the three points demands made by the aggrieved family.
Meanwhile, Yatuk Mra Nalo, sister of Everester Tapi Mra said there is no correspondence from the state government over the demands of the family. Also, the three-point demands are very simple and can be fulfilled if the government wants.
She said the demand includes bringing back her brother and his aide Niku Dao dead or alive, action against East Kameng district Deputy Commissioner PA Polumatla for his alleged negligence in administering the first search and rescue operation and constituting a high-level inquiry in the entire episode.
“Sometimes I feel that is it only because I am a woman that the state government is ignoring my concern. I feel left alone in this fight for my brother’s rights. Therefore, I would request women's organizations of the state to lend their voice on my behalf to the government,” she added.
