ITANAGAR, Dec 10: The state Tourism Department participated in the 3rd Edition of Himalayan Orange Tourism Festival (HOT)-2018” organized at Kolkata by Association for Conservation & Tourism(ACT) at City Centre, Salt Lake, Kolkata from December 7-9 last. A large team from Bengal Himalaya, neighbouring Eastern Nepal, Sikkim, Arunachal, Bhutan, Meghalaya, Manipur and neighbouring Myanmar joined the event with display of local products and culture. Various attractions of the events were stalls, culture, food, photography, painting and lot of oranges.      

The festival highlights Rural Tourism and home stay potential of the state and emphasis on Agriculture Tourism a new concept for Arunachal tourism.
A 15-member team belonging to Ngul Chulyu group from Yazali developed under community based tourism participated in the events. Large number of Agriculture produces like oranges, kiwi, gingers, star fruit, homemade pickles along with locally made handicrafts were the main attraction in the two stalls provided to Arunachal Pradesh. The festival facilitates an opportunity to explore the source of market and at the same time get to interact with other Rural Tourism stakeholders from Eastern Himalayas.
