ITANAGAR, Aug 25: Chief Minister Pema Khandu, announced on Friday that the state government is actively developing plans to regularize the employment of SSA (Samagra  Shiksha Abhiyan) teachers in a phased manner. He assured that an official announcement regarding this matter would be made soon. Additionally, Khandu disclosed that the government is also addressing the issue of salary disparity among various staff members working under the SSA scheme.
However, the Chief Minister issued a warning, stating that the government will closely monitor any potential protests or demonstrations by SSA teachers. He emphasized that while there are no established guidelines for salary increases for SSA teachers, but it is the state government which has enhanced their remuneration by reallocating funds from other developmental sources.
Earlier, the All Arunachal Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers Association (AASSATA) had issued an ultimatum to the state government, urging the regularization of SSA teachers' employment. Techi Bollo, President of AASSATA, highlighted that the state BJP had promised in its election manifesto to regularize SSA teachers. While the government has taken steps by regularizing 400 teachers out of over 6000 in the first phase, Bollo stressed the need for the commencement of the second phase.
Bollo conveyed optimism, expressing that their hopes are still alive. However, he said that if no substantial updates are provided by September 5 next, the association plans to convene a general meeting involving district chapters to discuss the next steps. He indicated that a resolution would be made to determine the subsequent course of action.
