Kimin, Sep 9: A two-day training programme on arms, regimental discipline and field exercises for State Forest officials was conducted by Recruit Training Centre (RTC), Indo Tibetan Border Police, Kimin. The training  included introduction to various firearms, ranging devices including maintenance and firing practice.
DIG RTC Kimin, Pawan Kumar Negi encouraged the forest officials for effective learning from RTC trainers with strict compliance to orders and rules during the training classes. Commandant RTC, Sanjeeb Rolva emphasized on preservation of pristine forests and ecology of the state. This arms training programme is part of a series of training modules of pilot project on institutional strengthening of forest field staffers being implemented by Chief Conservator Forest, Western Arunachal Circle, Tapek Riba.
Central Forces ITBP and SSB protect the international borders in the state. State Forest Department shall have to closely work with the Central Forces including Customs in the upcoming International Trade Centres in the State to prevent any potential growth of wildlife criminal activities as observed already in Manipur's Moreh and Mizoram's Champai, said the department in a press statement.
