ITANAGAR, July 25:A joint meeting of Arunachal Pradesh State Food Commission and State Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee, Department of Food and Civil Supplies, was held today. The members present in the meeting discussed in detail and took serious note on the recent supply of sub-standard rice  from Pasighat FCI Godown to few districts.
 The meeting was attended by State Food Commission Chairman Dr. Laiky Wangchuk, Member Rillang Cheje,  State Level Vigilance & Monitoring Committee Chairman Anok Wangsa, Member  Nima Sange,  OSD to Chairman State Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee Anom Apang and others. 
It worth mentioning here that recently the State Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee made an unscheduled visit to Mebo in order to investigate the truth behind a viral video showing distribution of substandard rice.
On the basis of report submitted by State Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee, the State Food Commission has directed FCI and the state government to  stop supplying expired /bad quality of rice to Arunachal Pradesh with immediate effect and quality control team be sent to FCI Godown Pasighat to verify the details of sub-standard rice available in the godown urgently.  
The meeting unanimously decided to work in proper coordination with sincerity for the benefits of the consumers in particular and state in general.
