Itanagar, May 27: The Arunachal Cycling Association (ACA) held its Annual General Body Meeting on Tuesday under the leadership of its President cum MLA Mutchu Mithi, with a focus on strengthening organisational structure and elevating the state’s presence in the national cycling arena.
Divided into two key sessions, the meeting began with the selection and election of new General Body members—an important move aimed at fortifying the administrative base of the association.
The second session saw in-depth discussions on district-level affiliations, preparations for the upcoming Mountain Terrain Biking (MTB) Nationals, and strategic planning for greater participation in national events. Members emphasized the need for better coordination and talent grooming to enhance Arunachal’s competitive edge in cycling.
Director of Sports and Youth Affairs, Ramesh Linggi, presented a detailed overview of the ACA’s Constitution, including the Memorandum and Articles of Association, to guide members in aligning future activities with the Association’s legal framework and vision.
A key announcement during the meeting was the decision to constitute an organising committee for an upcoming national-level cycling event by June 15. This initiative is expected to bring better planning and execution to what could become a flagship event for cycling in the region.
The meeting concluded on a strong note of commitment, with members reaffirming their resolve to promote cycling across Arunachal Pradesh, particularly by identifying and nurturing talent at the grassroots level.
