DOLLUNGMUKH, Jul 16: A one-day legal awareness on women's health and legal empowerment was conducted by Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women in collaboration with Rigyu Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Dollungmukh today.
Speaking on the occasion, Kenjum Pakam, Chairperson, APSCW informed the gathering that out of the complaints received by the Commission, domestic violence cases constituted 99%. She urged the womenfolk to come forward and raise their voice against the injustice meted out to them. However, fight for gender equality doesn’t mean fight against men, she clarified. 
In the day long programme awareness on court marriages – its procedures and benefits, crime against women and drugs/tobacco induced oral and cervical cancer and importance of vaccinations and medical tests as a measure to prevent cervical cancer were imparted to the participants by Ngurang Nama, Member APSCW, Advocate Baity Murtem and Dr. Ngurang Anam.
Elizabeth Dupak, Incharge SDO Dollungmukh and Dumgandu Singpho OC Dollungmukh PS also spoke on the occasion.
