ITANAGAR, May 15: State BJP today organised a virtual condolence meeting to mourn the demise of President, Manipur BJP Professor Saikhom Tikendra Singh and the former President, Tripura BJP Nilmani Deb, both of whom succumbed to Covid-19 a few days ago.
The condolence meeting was addressed by State BJP President B.R. Wahge, General Secretaries Zingnu Namchoom, Nalong Mize and Secretary Tadar Niglar. Organising Secretary, Arunachal BJP Ananta Narayan Mishra elaborated the life, works and contribution of late Tikkendra Singh who breathed last on May`13 at Shija Hospital, Imphal. Tikendra Singh did his post-graduation in Philosophy from Banaras Hindu University and served as an Assistant Professor in Philosophy at Maharaja Bodhchandra College, Manipur for 20 long years before joining politics. He was an active student activist and struggled for the rights of students and backward classes right from his school days. After joining the BJP in 1994 and serving various ranks he became the President, Manipur BJP and held the post during his demise. State BJP also mourned the demise of the former President, Tripura BJP Nilmani Deb who succumbed to Covid-19 a few days ago.
Expressing profound grief over the untimely demise of the two senior party leaders, State BJP conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls.
