ITANAGAR, Apr 6: The State BJP filed complaint against nine (9)  of its Zila Parishad Members (ZPMs)  from Papumpare district  to disqualify their membership from Panchayat Raj for "cheating and forgery".
Speaking to the media, Spokesperson BJP(AP) Techi Necha informed that following the directives from the state BJP President, he has filed the official complaint before the Member Secretary cum ADC-Yupia  today demanding  necessary action to disqualify the ZPMs for cheating and forgery.
Necha informed that the expelled ZPMs claimed that they have merged with the People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA), but as per the Arunachal Pradesh Local Authorities Prohibition of Defection Act 2003, at least 1/3 members are needed for the merger, whereas they are only nine members out of 15.
He also stated that members have misled the authority to change the existing Zila Parishad Chairperson (ZPC) Papumpare by cheating and forgery. It has been proved that they have submitted the wrong documents regarding the merger, as PPA President himself claimed that "no" such merger has taken place with the PPA, he said.
Necha also informed that, besides the complaint to Member Secretary cum ADC-Yupia, State BJP will also file legal petition in the District Court for legal action against the defected ZPMs. They have to be disqualified from their membership, and there should be a by-election, asserted the Spokesperson.
