ITANAGAR, Aug 14: In what comes as a major relief to the State government, the agitating Samagra Shiksha Abhiyaan Teachers Association has temporarily deferred their proposed “indefinite non-cooperation movement” to protest against the government’s indifferent attitude in regularizing the services of SSA teachers. The decision to withdraw their protest came following the recent cabinet decision to create 400 posts for their regularization.

“We have decided to withdraw the strike as we found the recent cabinet decision satisfactory. Our major demand regarding regularization of SSA teachers has been partially fulfilled,” said President Tarh Agung Tarh while interacting with presspersons here today.

Assuring to resume their duties,  Agung said “We will decide our future course of action after the proposed meeting with Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein scheduled on August 21next and shall continue our movement if no tangible solution is brought to address our plea  for phase wise regularization.”

He informed that the Dy.CM and Education Minister assured to convene a meeting with Chief Minister on August 18 next to discuss the matter which will be followed by meeting with Dy. CM on August 21 with the Association.
