ITANAGAR, Sep 10: The Arunachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (APSPCB) took 9 students from schools of Itanagar to attend the 1st Eastern Regional Conference on waste disposal & management conducted by the  National Green Tribunal, Eastern Bench, Kolkata, the Forest Department of Assam and all the Pollution Control Boards of the Eastern region at Guwahati from September 9-10. 
The students were selected by APSPCB based on competition held amongst students in essay and poster competition. 
The students got an opportunity to know about waste disposal and management from dignitaries and experts of the subject. The technical sessions covered various topics on waste management.
the Conference was attended and addressed by various dignitaries and experts like the Hon'ble CM of Assam,  shri Sarabananda Sonowal, Judges from the Supreme Court of India, Chief Justice of Royal Kingdom of Bhutan Hon'ble Lyonpo Tshering Wangchuk, the Chairperson of the NGT, the Environment and Forest Minister of Assam Miss Tomter Gamlin, Class XI Commerce of govt higher secondary school Itanagar and Mst. Ayush Deb, Class VIII, VKV Itanagar received certificate in Essay and Poster competition respectively.
