ZIRO, Jun 8: Union  Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and AYUSH, Sarbananda Sonowal who is in Ziro for a two-day tour visited various facilities upon his arrival.
Sonowal visited a Fair Price shop at Hong village where he interacted with the beneficiaries and ration card holders. Beneficiaries shared their experiences during the Covid lockdown period, when obtaining ration was a herculean task as movement was completely banned and how the free rice distributed at the door steps by the District Administration under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana was a huge relief for them.
At the AYUSH Health and  Wellness center at Manipolyang, he interacted with the staff and assured to  assist  in  upgrading the amenities of the wellness center.
The Union Minister also inspected the Gyati Takka General Hospital and took stock of the Jan Aushadhi store being run at the hospital. He also visited the dialysis unit, Homeopathy  and the AYUSH OPD. Interacting with the doctors and nurses on duty, he advised them to be sincere as for the common people the medical fraternity is next to god.
 Minister Agri and Allied, Tage Taki, Education minister Taba Tedir, Bokul Deka,Chairman,APCL, Dr.M Lego,Director Health Services , Dr. Dusu Laji Deputy Director Health Services(AYUSH) accompanied during the visit.
