MECHUKHA, Dec 5: State Assembly Speaker P D Sona today attended the Podi-Barbi celebrations at Yorko village near Mechukha.
Podi-Barbi, a harvest festival is one of the main festivals of Adi community and celebrated on 5th December every year. Speaking on the occasion, Sona extended his greetings to the gathering and exuded hope that that the festival would usher in a bumper harvest, good health and harmony for all.
He appreciated the people of Yorko village for maintaining the age-old culture through festival and encouraged them to continue doing so.
The day-long celebration was marked with colorful cultural programmes & rituals.
