GUWAHATI, Jun 27: Arunachal Assembly Speaker P D Sona on Monday attended office as the President of North East Regional Institute of Parliamentary Studies, Training & Research (NERIPSTR) at Khanapara, Guwahati. 
Sona, who is also the Chairman of CPA India Region Zone-III, was unanimously elected as president of NERIPSTR on May 12 last during the executive meeting of 18th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association India Region Zone III at Itanagar. 
The NERIPSTR was set up at Khanapara in Guwahati, Assam with the objective of imparting training, workshops and extending support to all the legislators and officials of the NE Assemblies.
Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary, Director NERIPSTR Heman Das and officials welcomed Sona during his first day at the office.
While extending his gratitude to the Speakers & Deputy Speakers of Northeast for entrusting him with the responsibilities, Sona assured to give his best and work for the Welfare of NERIPSTR and the members of NE Assemblies.
