MECHUKHA, Jul 26: State Assembly Speaker PD Sona on Tuesday called upon the Gaon Buras and Buris to work with district administration for the larger interest of the district and its people. Sona was speaking during the meeting of the GB Association at Mechukha.
Stating that the role of GBs is very important as they are the eyes and ears of the government, the Speaker suggested them to extend their help to the administration in solving various local issues in the district. He however suggested them not to be biased and work transparently for the betterment of everyone.
Expressing serious concern over a growing forest fire, garbage and unchecked roaming of stray animals in the township area, the Speaker urged upon the GBs to help the district administration curve the menace.
Further, asserting that rampant hunting and illegal fishing need serious attention, the Speaker suggested the administration, forest department and GBs to work together to create awareness among the people and initiate appropriate measures to check the same.
DC Shi-Yomi, ADC Mechukha and CO Mechukha also spoke and shared their views and ideas.
