PASIGHAT, Aug 22: Organized by the Central Solung Festival Sports Committee (CSFSC), 2022, the Solung festival football tourney began today at the JNC playground amidst much fanfare. Altogether, thirty teams from Pasighat and adjoining villages are participating to grab the winning trophy to be played in the final match on September 9 next.
Stressing on fair play, MLA Kaling Moyong appreciated all the participating teams and called for maintaining discipline and sportsman spirit.
CC (PMC) Okiam Borang, termed games and sports as important for physical as well as character building.
According to the concerned committee, the winning and runners-up teams will be awarded with fifty and thirty thousand cash prizes with trophies respectively. The opening match was played between Borguli and Takilalung teams in which the former defeated the latter by 3-1 goals.
