NAMSAI, Jun 14: The Socio – Economic Welfare Society (SEWA) today urged the concern authority to make the drug de-addiction and rehabilitation centre established at Lathao, Namsai functional which has been lying abandoned since its establishment.
The union in a release today added that, Namsai, being a newly created district has been progressing rapidly in infrastructure development however at the same time anti – social elements due to rise in drugs addicts is also being witnessed.
Further expressing concern over the prevailing drug menace, GS SEWA, CT Manlong requested Namsai mother’s group to emulate the footstep of Women against Social Evils (WASE) and All Mishmi Women Welfare Society at Tezu to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and alcoholism in Namsai.
