BOMDILA, Apr 9: Governor PB Acharya and State’s First Lady Kavita Acharya again interacted with labourers working in the Bhalukpong to Bomdila road stretch under Border Roads Organisation, on their return journey from District Tour at Sessa, 72 kms from Bomdila on Saturday.

As promised in his last meeting with the labourers, the Governor handed over recreational items like carrom boards, volleyball sets and cricket bats with balls for the children of the labourers. Commandant of 14 Border Road Task Force (BRTF) based at Tenga, Col. Pradeep Tiwari was present on the occasion.

The Governor asked the Commandant to facilitate the labourers in opening bank accounts under Jan Dhan Yojana, Atal Pension Yojaya, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Suraksha Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana. He also asked the BRTF head of the project to provide new CGI sheets for construction of shelter for the labour force and set up health, education and recreation facilities. He insisted that the employers must provide portable drinking water to the labourers and their families.

The Governor suggested the Project in-charge to provide refreshment to improve the work output. Boots and gloves should be provided to the labourers for their safety and security.

The labourers are the most hardworking people, particularly those working in the road construction and they contribute the most towards the development of the State. Every section of society must take care of their welfare, the Governor emphasised.

The Governor assured to take up the provision related to daily ration for the workers working in various organisations including BRO with the State Government under Food Security Act.
