Namsai, Sep 29: The Skill Development Programme (SDP) on “Sewing Machine Operator” for 30 unemployed rural youth of Namsai was launched at Industries Training Hall today.
The programme was sponsored by the NABARD and will be implemented by Bethel Life Care Charitable Trust (BLCCT) in collaboration with ArSRLM, BMMU, Namsai.
DDM NABARD, Kamal Roy highlighted the various developmental interventions of NABARD in the district. He said that the SDPs are on-location skill development training programmes with the objectives to provide a wide range of skill development training to rural youth with job opportunities, identification and promote existing business models for increased rural employment to benefit aspiring rural entrepreneurs, improve income level and livelihoods and also to contribute to the economy by setting up of rural enterprises, reskilling/up-skilling of existing workers/ artisans in the traditional sectors etc.
