ITANAGAR, Sep 22: Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, has ordered for reopening of all skill development training institutes/centres in the state which had remained closed since March this year due to Covid pandemic and lockdowns.
The order is in tune with the Union Home Ministry’s directive to re-open all kinds of skill development training institute/centres in the country during Unlock 4 and resumption of training activities in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs)/Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) centres from September 21 onwards. With this decision, 931 candidates in 5 ITIs and 5280 candidates in 26 PMKVY training centres in the state will be able to resume their academic and training activities. 5 Chief Minister’s Yuva Kaushal Yojana (CMYKY) training centres will also be reopened. All training providers having centres under non-containment zones have been instructed to follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Centre/State government for training/assessment/certification under short/long term training and RPL etc.
The state’s Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is on a war footing mode for fresh enrolment of candidates in the ITIs with a fixed calendar for the current academic year as notified by the Union Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. As most of the ITIs were declared as quarantine centres by the respective District Administrations, they have now been de-notified except ITI Roing. The department is rigorously taking up the matter with the Lower Dibang Valley DA for early vacation of ITI Roing from being a quarantine centre for commencement of training.

The Union Ministry of SD&E has issued a tight training schedule for completion/assessment of 931 youths of the state pursuing ITI courses whose training was halted due to the pandemic. Department of SD&E PR
