PASIGHAT, May 24: Initiated under all ranks of Sigar Military Station, the spearhead gunners organized a cleanliness drive today under the theme “Olive Greens-Defending the Environment” along the pristine and serene river bank of Raneghat bridge. A prominent tourist spot, this are is frequently visited by tourists and travelers. According to Sigar Military station, the improper disposal of garbage and litter in this scenic and naturally blessed area, hampers the overall aesthetic.
 Cleanliness has been intrinsic to the culture and tradition of the armed forces and same was evident from the painstaking efforts of the spearhead gunners, asserted the Sigar military source adding that this drive was not only instrumental in improving the overall aesthetic of the tourist site but also raised awareness on environmental issues thereby motivating the locals to clean up, fix up and conserve their environment.
