PASIGHAT/ MEBO Mar 22: In commemoration of World Water Day, Sigar Military Station hosted an enriching and vibrant celebration, aimed at raising awareness about the paramount importance of water conservation. The event, held on March 22, brought together school students along with their parents of Mebo Primary School, East Siang, who participated enthusiastically in various informative and creative activities.
The day commenced with an enlightening lecture on the critical role water plays in sustaining life and the environment. Through captivating discussions, students gained a deeper understanding of the urgent need to safeguard this precious resource. The awareness session underscored how collective efforts can mitigate the growing water crisis.
To further ignite the spirit of learning, two exciting competitions were organized to include an intellectually stimulating quiz contest and an inspiring painting competition. The quiz, which tested the students’ knowledge of water-related issues, encouraged a healthy spirit of competition while emphasizing the importance of water conservation. Meanwhile, the painting competition allowed students to channel their creativity, depicting the beauty and significance of water through art.
At the end of the event a collective pledge was taken by the soldiers & the students to “Save Water, Secure the future”. The event was well appreciated by the parents & school administration, who thanked the Indian Army for inculcating the importance of water to the young and impressionable students.
