ITANAGAR, Aug 3: The Special Investigation Cell (Vigilance) in Itanagar made another arrest in the case involving the alleged illegal appointment of 28 primary teachers in Longding district.
After thorough interrogation and technical analysis, the SIC apprehended Jashi Wangsu, 40, working as a Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) and accountant at the  DDSE office, Longding.
The case came to light after the Fact Finding Committee report of the Education Department raised concerns over fake appointments of 28 primary teachers in Longding district. Subsequently, the Special Investigation Cell (Vigilance) registered the case (SIC (VIG) PS C/No.02/2023) under several sections of the IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
The state government terminated the services of the 28 primary teachers in June following the recommendations of a three-member Fact Finding Committee constituted by Education Minister Taba Tedir after a local students’ body alleged that their appointments were illegal.
This is  the second arrest in connection with this case. On July 27 last, the SIC arrested retired deputy director of school education (DDSE) Longding, Jomdo Lona (61).
With the investigation ongoing, the SIC has assured to probe into all facets of the case to ensure that those responsible for the fraudulent appointments are brought to justice, stated a release.
