ITANAGAR, Jan 15: The Arunachal Anti Corruption Sena (AACS) has lodged a complaint with the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) alleging anomalies in the construction of PMGSY road from Pide Rime to Tego Gamlin, in West Siang District and has sought an inquiry against the executing agencies within one month's time.
Speaking to reporters at the Press Club today, President AACS,  Kirgo Sora claimed that the PWD Yomcha Division and RWD Aalo Division have siphoned off public funds meant for the Pide Rime to Tego Gamlin road project. Sora, said as per the departmental record the said road is  5.7 km long whereas actually, the length of the road is 4.7km only. That aside, the government has allocated Rs. 80 lahks under SIDF  to PWD Aalo Division to construct  CC Pavement road for  2 Km. "Interestingly,  the executing agency constructed only 280 meters of CC Pavement road but in the official document they have mentioned that at least 730 meters of road has been completed," Sora claimed.
The AACS President also alleged that before the completion of the CC Pavement road, RWD Yomcha Division had sanctioned Rs.6.93 crore by overlapping the same 5.7km road. "What triggered us more is that the executing agency has siphoned off the fund without doing quality work. They have withdrawn at least Rs 46 lakhs from the funds for formation cutting, whereas there was no requirement for it. They even collected the funds for jungle clearance and carried out blacktopping of the same CC pavement road constructed by the PWD," Sora claimed.
The AACS said based on its complaint, the SIC on 13th June 2022, issued a letter to Secretary RWD to submit the report within two weeks on the charges made.  However, the department is yet to respond to the letter. So, we have urged the SIC to initiate an inquiry against the said project as well as a site inspection to unearth the truth within one month, said General Secretary Tada Doro.
