Assam-Arunachal border delineation exercise concludes in Lower Siang
PASIGHAT, Sep 5: Spate in the Siang washed away more than 3kms stretch of the Mebo-Dhola Road (MDR) on the intervening night of September 4-5, near Namsing, snapping road communication to Namsing Circle headquarters in East Siang and Paglam Sub-Division in Lower Dibang Valley District.
The affected villages are Namsing ,Mer & Gadum I & Gadum II under Mebo-Subdivsion in East Siang. Power supply has also been affected plunging the area into darkness as transformers, numbers of high tension and low tension poles of the recently restored 11Kv line has also been submerged by the eroding Siang.
Local MLA Lombo Tayeng along with Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu, ADC Mebo, Aeinstein Koyu and others made spot inspection this morning. The MLA asked the DC to submit report on the damages caused to the higher authority for redressal and relief .The MLA also directed EE Power for relocation of the electrical poles.
Restoration work is likely to take sometime,however local people alongwith PWD are engaged in temporary restoration of the road communication. shifting of electrical poles will begin on Tuesday, stated a DIPRO report.
