BOLENG, Jul 29: Setting the target of achieving 100% Covid vaccination coverage within August 15, Siang district will be rolling-out a vaccination 'Mop-Up' drive starting July 30 that would cover 24 locations identified as ‘lagging’.
To reach the said 100 % coverage from the current level of 71%, daily targets have been laid out for the teams. Siang DC Atul Tayeng has informed that a four-fold programme has been formulated in which along with administering the doses, free ration (rice ) under of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana-IV will also be distributed to the priority households/Antyodaya Anna Yojana beneficiaries. Reviews of previous vaccination drives in the district have brought to light that there is a need to boost Aadhaar penetration as the document is mandatory to access the government welfare schemes in a seamless manner. The four-fold programme will thus include Aadhaar enrolment at the sites in addition to the ongoing intensified random RAT sessions. The district's Nodal Officer Covid-19, DRCHO, DSO and DF&CSO will oversee the programme that will continue for the next two weeks with support from local government representatives and HGBs/GBs.
Early reviews of the mop-up rounds will also be made to assess the progress, allowing room for modification, if necessary. DIPRO
