BOLENG, Jun 17: Following suspected outbreak of African Swine Fever/Classical Swine Fever at the Government farm in Berung, East Siang district, the Siang district administration has initiated preventive measures to control its likely spread in Siang district.
Deputy Commissioner of Siang District, Atul Tayeng has ordered a complete ban on transportation & sale of cloven footed animals (Mithun, cow, sheep, goat, pigs) from outside the district. Further inspection/treatment and quarantine of existing mithun,cow, sheep,goat & pigs population in the district and adoption of bio-security measures by all concerned has been directed among several other measures.
