.BORDUMSA, Sep 20:  More than seven shops were completely turned to ashes in a massive fire incident which broke in the  wee hours on Thursday at Bordumsa,Changlang district.

Properties worth several lakhs has been lost in the inferno, however no casualties   has been reported .The devastating fire engulfed the entire shops in a row located along Bordumsa township road infront of Ajatshatru park.

Responding to the emergency situation, Indian Army jawans from Punjab Regiment and CRPF personnel rushed to the spot and assisted the locals to douse the fire from spreading further.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, however the probable reason would be short circuit from one of the shops, informed Officer Incharge Bordumsa Police station, T Langching. 'Due to non availability of Fire Brigade in Bordusma and other nearby places, we had to call Fire & Emergency team from Namsai', added the OC.

Meanwhile, the public of Bordumsa area have expressed resentment over non availability of fire service and emergency services in the area.
