ITANAGAR, Sep 5:  The state government is pressing men and machinery for the Search & Rescue operation of  Everester Tapi Mra and his assistant Niku Dao, said Minister Tourism Nakap Nalo adding that operation will continue until concrete information about the duo is established.
Nalo who represents Nacho Assembly Constituency informed that the first  everester of the state, Mra, is also a native of his constituency and that he is in constant touch with the family members of the mountaineer.
"At this difficult moment, we can only express our concern to the family members of both Mra and Dao. Authorities including the Chief Minister is monitoring the situation," he said adding that the family is pining their hopes on the rescue team for a piece of good news.
Experts from the Indian Army,  mountaineers from the state and local porters have already reached the confluence of Kameng River and Wapria Bung but due to heavy rain, the teams couldn’t cross the confluence. Bad weather in the area is also hindering the Search & Rescue Operation team. Four Helicopters are on standby, as soon as the weather clears they will take flight, the minister added.
The situation is very harsh in the area due to heavy rain and we cannot go against nature’s fury as it will be risky for the Search & Rescue team, he said.
