PANGIN, Mar 3: The first ever district level monitoring committee meeting of ICDS, Siang District was held at Pangin on Thursday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Rahul Singh in presence of CDPOs, administrative officer etc.

Acknowledging the importance of Anganwadis and ASHAs, the DC stressed on close coordination and cooperation between the two to bring about positive and much needed changes especially in the health and education sector. He urged the education department to collaborate with the Anganwadi workers to improve the education scenario of the district.

CDPO Riga, Lenjing Tagi gave an overview of the various schemes, goals, roles of the ICDS Department in the district and also the various challenges being faced by the department.

This was followed by an elaborate and detailed discussion regarding finding viable solutions to improve and revitalize the department for better implementation of schemes, strategies to improve working and coordination between the ASHAs and Anganwadis and also between the various allied departments.
