ITANAGAR, Jan 16: Road Safety Week was observed across the state during which drivers and pedestrians were sensitised on the importance of road safety and traffic rules.
At PASIGHAT, The special drive today on NH515 was organised jointly by the District Road Safety Committee, under the Chairmanship of East Siang Deputy Commissioner and All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation (AAPPTF), East Siang Unit on theme of “Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Suraksha”. The Pasighat Police Traffic Cell, District Transport Office, Pasighat Highway Division along with AAPTF volunteers are the key stakeholders engaged in the Road safety awareness drive.
Highways officials advised citizens to follow road safety measures viz. avoid over-speeding, wearing helmets and seat belts, avoiding  alcohol consumption and keeping phone off and not mixing drinking and driving, wrong side parking, overloading etc. 
At Tawang: As a part of the National Road Safety Week from January 11 to 17 under “Swachhata Pakhwada” to propagate safer roads for all, awareness campaigns were held at various locations in the district headquarter by the Tawang district administration.
