Itanagar, Dec 17: National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE), in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the Department of IT & Communication, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, organised a Regional Investor Seminar for Awareness (RISA) on Tuesday at the State Banquet Hall, Itanagar. This initiative aims to enhance awareness among state government officials regarding the securities market, financial planning and investor grievance redressal mechanisms.
The seminar was graced by G. Ram Mohan Rao, Executive Director, SEBI, who highlighted SEBI’s key initiatives in safeguarding investors and fostering trust in the securities market. The event also witnessed the esteemed presence of Shyam Kanu Mahanta, IRS, Commissioner, GST & CX and Subhankar Chatterjee, Assistant Commissioner, GST, Govt. of India as special guests. The event was attended by government officials from various departments as well as the students of Itanagar.
Debankur Majumdar, Vice President, NSE, delivered an insightful technical session covering essential topics such as the structure of the securities market, investment planning, investment evaluation factors, mutual funds and the NSE Emerge platform.  Amrita Basu, Chief Manager, NSE, elaborated on the role of Common Investor Service Centre (CISC), its relevance, services offered and the grievance redressal mechanisms under SEBI Complaints Redressal System (SCORES) and Securities Market Approach for Resolution Through Online Dispute Resolution (SMARTODR).
The seminar also included a session by Chuman Chema, Inspector, Cyber Police, who addressed prevalent cyber frauds and shared actionable measures for prevention. This collaboration with the Cybercrime Department of Itanagar Police underscores the commitment to safeguarding citizens from digital frauds.
Further, NSE and SEBI have also established a Common Investor Service Centre (CISC) in Itanagar to provide streamlined grievance redressal services and assist investors in resolving complaints through platforms like SCORES and SMARTODR, making the securities market more accessible and trustworthy for retail investors.
