ITANAGAR, Oct 18: After almost a month of its foot-march from Itanagar to Delhi and sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar in the national capital, the Arunachal Against Corruption (AAC) met Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday.
Speaking to the  media, Chairperson AAC, Toko Sheetal informed that the team met the Union Minister and submitted its representation. "We have briefed him about our ongoing agitation and foot-march against corruption practices prevailing in the state," she said.
We have also informed him about our demands on CBI and ED enquiry on the corruption in the state, she said further adding that, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju who is also the local Member of Parliament from Arunachal West has categorically stated that CBI and ED can be imposed only in two conditions either the state government seeks its requirement or if the court orders it.
Sheetal disclosed that the MP said that only the party leaders can decide about required action to be taken against anyone who have corruption charges. Being a Union Minister he has no such power to impose CBI or ED, Rijiju has been quoted to have told the visiting team.
Chairperson AAC further added that, her team has informed Rijiju about their objective to meet the President of India and even the Prime Minister to brief them about their war against corruption in Arunachal Pradesh.
