Doimukh, Jul 24: Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh will observe the 3rd anniversary of NEP 2020 in the Institute of Distance Education (IDE). Vice Chancellor Prof. Saket Kushwaha introduced the speakers from different eminent institutions from the state and weeklong activities going to be organized by all the departments of RGU to the media during a press conference today.
Prof. Kushwaha briefed the press about implementation of NEP 2020 in Rajiv Gandhi University in the last three years. He highlighted that RGU acted on all 18 verticals of NEP 2020 and introduced the four-year degree programs from current session 2023-24 in Research and non research aspects of UG Programmes in university campuses as well as in the affiliated colleges. He further added that 99% students have already registered in Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) in Rajiv Gandhi University and different affiliated colleges. RGU is going to start the dual degree programme very soon, he added.
The Vice Chancellor praised the efforts of the Arunachal Pradesh Government for providing various necessary facilities in the RGU campus up to the amount of 50 crore.
Registrar of RGU, Dr. NT Rikam highlighted that RGU is going to introduce Four year UG courses in the different Science disciplines Like Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Statistics. He also said that in Arts discipline Four different subjects will also be started. For UG courses admission RGU is conducting a special RG,UCET this year and will join the CUET mode of admission from next year.
While speaking on the occasion NERIST, Director Prof. M Muralidhar stressed on teachers orientation, multiple entry and exit system and language aspect of NEP 2020.
Chairman of NEP 2020 Committee RGU, Prof. Oken Lego talked about the different activities which are going to be organized by the university to celebrate three years completion of NEP 2020 in RGU. He also told the media about the detailed outreach and dissemination activities to celebrate the 2nd Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam on July 29-30 next which will be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in virtual mode.
Kendriya Vidyalaya, NERIST is implementing NEP 2020 by adopting the hands-on experience through Creative Critical Thinking (CCT) to improve the learners' Foundational numeracy and literacy along with their problem solving skills, said Mrs Sharma, KV NERIST.
Prof. Otem Padung, Finance Officer, RGU stressed that RGU is going to start the Four year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in Arts category along with 41 Universities across the country from this session.
