Rono Hills, Nov 25: Rajiv Gandhi University community held a condolence meeting on Tuesday to mourn the demise of Dr. Tai Nyori, former Controller of Examinations and Registrar of the then Arunachal University (State University) and now Rajiv Gandhi University. Dr. Tai Nyori was the second person to serve as the Controller of Examinations.
The tenure of his office as the Controller of Examinations was a seventeen long years w.e.f. 21.12.1990. It was a memorable and unbreakable achievement.
Nyori was born on 1st January 1947 at Pero village of the then Siang District. He completed his schooling at Along High School, graduated from St. Anthony’s and St. Edumund’s College in Shillong, Meghalaya and earned master’s degree in History from GauhatiUniversity. He holds the distinction of being the second person from Arunachal Pradesh to achieve Ph. D. Degree. Dr. Tai Nyori’s journey in academic and literature has been extraordinary.
Prof. S.K. Nayak, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Otem Padung, the Registrar and other members paid tribute to him on the occasion. Dr. Nyori will always be remembered as a down-to-earth and amiable personality who always tried to meet people and employees of all categories and tried to gather feedback from them for the overall development of the University.
