RONO HILLS, Jul 16: Department of Commerce, Rajiv Gandhi University in association with the Department of  Management on Thursday organised a national seminar titled ‘Financial Planning and Preparedness for Financial Inclusion’ through virtual mode with the objective of spreading knowledge and awareness on financial information and inclusion among school, college and university students and teachers.
Conducted in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and Association of Mutual Funds in India [AMFI], the seminar was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Professor Saket Kushwaha. Delivering the inaugural address, the VC underscored the relevance of such national seminars for spreading financial education among common people. Among the 625 participants, 60% were from urban background and 40% had rural background and 25% were from RGU and 75% from outside. 60% participants had commerce and  management background and 40% were from other disciplines and participation ratio between employed and unemployed was equal. Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce Dr. Vinod Kumar Yadav was the seminar’s Coordinator and Organizing Secretary. Eminent speakers namely Samuel Babu  Madella from SEBI and Suryakant Sharma from AMFI conducted informative sessions touching the length and breadth of the subject of financial planning in day to day life.
Pro VC Professor Amitava Mitra and senior faculty of the department, Professor Tasi  Kaye also spoke on the occasion.
