Doimukh, Aug 20: The Anti-Ragging Committee of Rajiv Gandhi University observed Anti-Ragging Week from August 12-18, as part of its commitment to maintain a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment. The Government of India’s Anti-Ragging Portal announced the observation of Anti-Ragging Week across all the universities with the objective to sensitise students about the dangers of ragging, the legal implications and the role of the university community in preventing such acts.
The week long celebration in RGU included a special lecture by Guest Speaker Tumme Ammo, DIGP, ICR which was attended by school children, research scholars, administrative officers and faculty members of RGU. Various activities to spread awareness about Anti Ragging issues were conducted in the form of competitions where students participated in essay writing, poster designing and slogan writing.
A short awareness video created by RGU was also screened.
