Doimukh, Aug 27: Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), joined the rest of the nation in celebrating National Sports Day-2025, commemorating the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, under the national theme “Ek Ghanta Khel Ke Maidaan Mein”. As per the directives of the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, the University inaugurated the three-day celebrations with a lively Aerobics and Zumba fitness session held at the RGU main playground on Wednesday. The activity witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teaching and non-teaching staff, research scholars, and members of the University community, spreading the message of fitness, wellness, and unity through sports.
Adding to the vibrancy of the day, a friendly volleyball match was organized between the teaching faculty and the RGU students’ team. The contest, cheered on by a spirited audience, showcased sportsmanship and camaraderie, with the teaching staff team emerging victorious.
