Itanagar, Aug 25: Dr. Proshanto Kr. Saha, Head of the Department of Psychology and Associate Professor (Forensic Psychology & Neuropsychology) Rajiv Gandhi University, has been nominated for the National Awards to Teachers 2025 for Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) & Polytechnics, conferred by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
The National Awards to Teachers are conferred annually on Teachers’ Day, 5th September, by the Ministry of Education to recognise the outstanding contributions of faculty members across Higher Educational Institutions and Polytechnics in India. The awards aim to acknowledge excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and academic leadership. The ceremony for this year will be held on 5th September at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Each award consists of a certificate of merit, a silver medal, and a cash prize of ₹50,000.
Dr. Saha is being recognised for his contributions to teaching, research, and academic leadership in the fields of psychology and forensic sciences. With more than 14 years of professional experience, including over a decade in teaching and nearly four years in research. He has significantly advanced the study of cognitive neuroscience, forensic psychology, and neuropsychology in India. His work has strengthened both academic inquiry and student learning in these emerging fields.
A total of 21 teachers from across the country have been selected for the National Awards to Teachers 2025 for HEIs & Polytechnics.
