Itanagar, Apr 5: Two faculty members of the Department of Education, Rajiv Gandhi University, Doimukh presented a paper on “Monastic Education in Tawang District of Arunachal Pradesh” at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom.
The focus of the paper is on the system of education followed in Tawang Monastery.
“In Tawang Monastery along with religious education, modern system of education is also introduced, which is quite relevant in present situation and equips the monks with all necessary knowledge and skills,” said Prof Kesang Degi who co-authored the paper with Prof Boa Reena Tok.
The conference was organised by ACAVENT, which is a worldwide organiser for scientific conferences and workshops based in Vilnius, Lithuania. The conference which was held 
from March 27 to 29 last was attended by delegates from more than 25 countries.
