DOIMUKH, Sep 7: A one day Placement Orientation Programme was organized for the students of the university on Tuesday by the Placement Cell & Career Counseling Cell of RGU.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Saket Kushwaha spoke on the importance of showcasing the product values of the university through different mediums and encouraged the students and urged all to work on their abilities and potentialities to strive for excellence in life.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Amitava Mitra spoke on the essence of job placements for the students and suggested that more job portals should be engaged to maximize the scope of placements of university students. The Registrar Dr. N.T. Rikam encouraged the participants to hone their skills and develop them for grooming their employability in the job market.
The Joint Registrar of RGU Dr. David Pertin delivered an informative academic account of the university and also spoke on the role and importance of alumni vis-à-vis Alma mater and said that, it is high time that RGU starts banking on its huge alumni base.
Around 500 students benefited from the programme which was attended by faculty members from various departments also. The day also marked farewell and recognition of the passed out “Student Placement Coordinators” of each department. They were also given appreciation certificates for their sincere cooperation with the placement cell.
