PASIGHAT, Sep 20: Reaching out to help the flood affected villages like Borguli and Seram which was worst affected, the Adiland & Upright People Organization (AUPO)based here in Pasighat visited flood ravaged areas and handed over cash relief after interacting with the affected villagers on Wednesday.

The team AUPO led by its President, Allen Perme and Mongol Yomso, Chief patron suggested for preservation & plantation of trees which will help against the massive soil erosion. AUPO also urged state and central government to undertake flood control measures like construction of embankment, spurs at both the banks of Siang river as well as dredging. In a strong voice the AUPO termed that siltation is due to construction activities in the neighboring country.

Meanwhile, to the respite of people in  Mebo Sub-Division, the water level of Siang river has receded considerably.
