NIRJULI, Mar 23: Minister Urban Development, Town Planning, ULB etc Nabam Rebia on Thursday made a whirlwind tour to inspect progress of various ongoing developments projects carried out under Itanagar Municipal Council (IMC) under the twin capital.

Rebia along with IMC Chief Councillor, Kipa Kaku, Deputy Chief Councillor Tarh Nachung, Town Planning Director Amoy Morang, IMC Empowering committee members, Tatung Tania, Gora Tallang etc visited burial ground near Karsingsa, APST bus stand at Naharlagun along with proposed IMC Divisional office at Chimpu and location for establishment of IMC Office at Jully etc.

Interacting with the press reporters at burial ground, Rebia informed that IMC is undertaking lots of project for developments of twin capital and many more are in pipeline.

Also considering the governor’s recent suggestion of a full-fledged burial ground at Karsingsa for every community, Rebia exhorted the IMC authority to expedite the process for floating tender and early start of construction work before arrival of monsoon season.

 He also said that during his tenure as MP, he contributed financial contribution of 5 lakhs from his MPLAD for the said purpose.

Also clearing the air about tussle between IMC and Art & Culture Department over permanent occupation of office building located at Naharlagun, Rebia informed he has kept in observation three sites for proposed establishment of IMC office and will make announcement shortly keeping in view the convenience of the people of the capital complex.

Rebia further requested the IMC Deputy Chief Councillor to work out possibilities for an alternate road from Nirjuli to the cremation ground and directed the Executive Engineer to keep provision for drainage system with complete boundary wall and protection for the burial and cremation ground.
