ITANAGAR, Nov 5: Along with the rest of the country, the National Unity Day (Rastriya Ekta Divas) was celebrated at District Jail, Jully Itanagar on October 31 last to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who played a major role in the political integration of India. 
​Prison staffers and inmates participated in the celebration to mark the occasion in a befitting manner.
​Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Tojo Karga graced the occasion as chief guest and addressed the gathering. Delivering a lecture on the contribution of Sardar Patel to the nation, the DIG (Prisons) appealed everyone to work for unity, integrity and security of the country.
​Later, he administered pledge to those present on the occasion.
