Narottam Nagar, Sep 11: In a poignant tribute to the timeless ideals of Swami Vivekananda, Ramakrishna Mission, Narottam Nagar, a beacon of spiritual enlightenment in the tranquil hills of Arunachal Pradesh, celebrated the 132nd anniversary of the revered monk's historic Chicago address. Observed as Universal Brotherhood Day, the occasion was marked with great fervour and devotion, as the mission's community came together to bask in the glory of Vivekananda's teachings.
The ceremony was graced by Tirap Deputy Commissioner Techu Aran and Chandrasekhar Hari Bhadsavle, Founder and Managing Trustee of Saguna Bagh, Maharashtra.
As the school band's melodious notes filled the air, the assembly began with an enchanting opening song by the higher secondary section students, setting the tone for a day of reflection, celebration, and inspiration. The felicitation ceremony, where middle section students paid homage to the esteemed guests, was a testament to the mission's commitment to nurturing young minds and fostering a sense of reverence for the great spiritual leader.
The highlight of the event was a captivating discourse on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, aptly titled "My India, the India Eternal". This thought-provoking session served as a poignant reminder of the enduring legacy of Vivekananda's message of love, compassion, and unity.
The ceremony also included the distribution of prizes to the winners of a painting competition, showcasing the artistic talents of the students, and academic achievement prizes, recognising the outstanding scholastic accomplishments of the young learners. The soul-stirring rendition of the patriotic song "Bharat pyara desh humara" by the students and Swami Achyuteshananda, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Narottam Nagar, resonated deeply with the audience, evoking a sense of pride and belonging.
The Chief Guest, Techu Aran, expressed his deep appreciation for the discipline and decorum displayed by the students of the institution. He emphasised the significance of brotherhood in today's turbulent world, where unity and harmony are essential for progress and prosperity.
The Chief Guest offered valuable insights and suggestions regarding the admission process, emphasising the importance of prioritising the well-being and holistic development of all students.
The Guest of Honour, Chandrasekhar Hari Bhadsavle, shared the importance of agriculture and echoed the Chief Guest's sentiments, highlighting the relevance of Swami Vivekananda's teachings in contemporary times. He stressed that the monk's message of universal brotherhood and the importance of individual character-building are essential for creating a more harmonious and enlightened world.
As the programme drew to a close, Swami Jneyananda, Principal of RKM School, Narottam Nagar, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the guests and participants, underscoring the significance of Vivekananda's ideals in today's world.
The celebration served as a powerful reminder of the transformative potential of the revered monk's teachings, inspiring the gathering to strive for a more harmonious and enlightened world.
