Indian Army conducts ‘Know Your Army’ outreach
YINGKIONG, Oct 29: A rally cum awareness programme on swachhta activities (Swachhta Shramdaan) under the banner of Swachhta Action Plan’2018 was organised here at Silli village of Upper Siang district by the Field Outreach Bureau (FOB) (erstwhile DFP), Govt. of India, Ministry of I & B, Pasighat.
The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among the rural people about cleanliness.
Speaking as resource person of the programme Dr Imtiaz Alom, Medical Officer, PHC, Geying educated the gathering about the benefit of cleanliness.
Dr Alom further informed that maximum abdominal diseases are caused mainly due to unclean surroundings and provided tips to the villagers about health, hygiene and cleanliness.
Er. Rokom Tayeng, JE, PWD, exhorted all particularly youths to come forward and make a strategy to clean their villages. He further appealed to the villagers not to use plastic bags as it is harmful to the environment.
Mihir Kumar Jha, FPO, FOB, Obat Megu, Ex. ASM also spoke during the programme.
