New Delhi, Mar 26: In a significant move towards fostering growth and development in Arunachal Pradesh, Minister of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) and Urban Development (UD) Balo Raja and Mayor of Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC), Tamme Phassang, met with Union Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary, in the national capital on Wednesday.
During the high-level meeting, Minister Balo Raja apprised MoS Chaudhary of the various initiatives undertaken by the Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies Department in Arunachal Pradesh. He also highlighted the pending financial allocations and sought additional funds to accelerate urban transformation and infrastructure projects in the state.
Emphasizing the need for enhanced transparency and efficiency, Minister Balo Raja advocated for computerization and the digitalization of fund management, which would pave the way for seamless governance and accountability in the state’s financial transactions. He further underscored the necessity of central support to ensure the smooth implementation of these reforms.
Further, expressing his gratitude, Balo Raja extended heartfelt appreciation to Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju for his unwavering support in facilitating crucial engagements with Union Ministers in the National Capital. He lauded Rijiju’s commitment to the holistic development of Arunachal Pradesh, acknowledging his role in bridging the state’s aspirations with national policies.
Meanwhile, Mayor Tamme Phassang reaffirmed his commitment to fostering urban development and driving socio-economic progress in the region. "I am dedicated to ensuring the growth and transformation of our cities. This meeting marks a significant step in our journey to unlock new opportunities, enhance civic amenities, and accelerate ongoing projects in Arunachal Pradesh," he stated.
Phassang and Raja engaged in fruitful discussions with MoS Pankaj Chaudhary, exploring collaborative pathways to bolster urban infrastructure, sustainable development, and digital governance. Pankaj Chaudhary , with his vast experience in public service, provided valuable insights and assured his full support to address the state's financial requirements.
