Raga, Sep 4: The Raga Press Club (RPC) celebrated its first foundation day today in a brief function held at the RPC premises. The event was attended by Taba Biroy, APPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kamle district, as Special Guest, and Mantu Gyadi, DIPRO (i/c), Kamle, as Special Invitee.
In his address, Biroy lauded the role of journalists in the district and urged media persons to uphold ethics while combating fake news, noting that the RPC will serve as an authentic platform for news verification in Kamle. Gyadi also encouraged RPC to maintain its standards and assured his support in strengthening the institution.
The RPC, founded on September 4, 2024 by journalists from various media outlets in the district, is currently headed by President Biku Aka and General Secretary Sajjal Sarkar, with five media houses affiliated. From today onwards, the RPC will remain open for press conferences and briefings, while its official inauguration is scheduled for the last week of October.
